Creating Learning Environments Where Children Thrive

Welcome Anoka-Hennepin Staff!

By taking this class, you’ll gain some wisdom about how a student’s physical surroundings impact their ability to function, learn, and thrive at school. We hope you see how your proactive investment in this aspect of your teaching will pay off in big ways. It might even transfer to your living spaces at home. 🙂

Upon completion, participants will earn 2 clock hours. A personalized certificate will automatically be generated at the end of the course. It can be viewed by returning to this course home page.

If this is your first online course experience with us, we recommend starting with some general tips found on the MyCatalyst Help page so you know how our courses work.

Creating Learning Environments Where Children Thrive (AH-Spring 2023)

Important note from Anoka-Hennepin Schools:

April 7, 2023 is a district-wide flexible professional development day. Professional learning sessions will be focused on the district's strategic priorities: “Read Well by Third Grade and Safe and Welcoming Schools.”

Licensed staff can choose to chunk their professional learning of 7 hours with .16 additional time granted for reflection over time between January 3rd and April 3rd or they can complete the professional learning on April 7th in their building. If licensed staff complete the training before April 3rd, they will earn a flex day and do not need to report to work on April 7th.

Guidelines

  • Professional learning must be completed during a prep hour or outside of the duty day.
  • Professional learning experiences earning graduate hours cannot count toward the flex day.
  • Professional learning experiences earning payment from the district can not  count toward the flex day.
