Summer 2026

Space is limited and slots will be filled on a first come-first served basis.

The Foundational Skills

In one day, learn the 12 skills that address the most common challenges of life in a classroom. Educators who implement the skills consistently report stronger connections with students, higher student engagement, and lower stress for themselves. This workshop is designed for anyone who is new to the skills or an existing implementer who wants a refresh before a fresh batch of faces show up in the fall.

This interactive and engaging course offers real-world, tangible examples, purposeful reflection, and opportunities to collaborate and practice with other educators. The strategies came from applied research conducted in over 50,000 classrooms focused on identifying the most practical actions adults can do to reduce frustration, confusion, and inequities in schools spaces.

Essential Skills for Co-Teaching

The co-teaching skills build on each individuals’ implementation of the Foundational Skills with specific considerations for how to coordinate the dynamic of having more than one adult facilitating learning. Learn how the adults can take on the roles of leading, supporting, and co-leading at different times throughout lessons in a way that appears seamless to students while maximizing clarity for them.

When Foundational Skills are consistently implemented, educators are able to identify special situations that where a skill could further reduce frustration, confusion, and inequities. Unlike Foundational Skills that are implemented as consistently as possible, Specialty Skills can be used whenever the corresponding circumstances arise. When the adults use Specialty Skills, they often result in higher success for students who present specialized needs and frequently reduce the need to provide additional interventions.
